I especially love that Tumblr screenshot saying “if what you’re implying is the truth, just SAY IT” because she has! She’s stated over and over again “I am not gay, I am straight, I am heterosexual” and they REFUSED to believe her and blamed it on compulsory heterosexuality, or her being too scared to come out. She LITERALLY did just say it!
I’m a “multiple interpretations of a character are valid” person until I see an interpretation that explicitly contradicts canon and then I start chewing on the drywall.
Every writer on Tumblr: “I would combust out of love if someone ever drew fanart of my fic!!”

We don’t care if it looks like shit to you, or you think your art skills are not good enough.
We will love any fan art, because it’s the most beautiful way to say “I love what you write”.

neither “that’s not canon” nor “fuck canon we made this all up” but a secret third thing (canon shouldn’t be taken as gospel but is useful as a reference point for building upon and recontextualizing characters and details. if you worship the source material as unchangeable then fandom in general probably isn’t for you. if you have complete disdain for the source material you would probably enjoy yourself more in a different fandom)
So at one of my jobs I work with this really nice woman named Liz who has an equally nice boyfriend. Thing is, I don’t know the boyfriends name because Liz only addresses him as boytoy. The term boytoy is used so frequently to describe him that not only does she have no problem using that term but neither do any of her coworkers including myself. One day Liz told me that he would be stopping by and when some dude with a beard came through the door I looked at him and said, “Mr.toy I presume.” And he just looks at me and goes; “The very one.”
Fucking eh. Relationship goals.

I feel like I need to come up with a backstory for Abdirak, cause I need more content of him.
That being said, does anyone else have one they’ve thought up for him? Genuinely interested to see if anyone came up with one or had ideas.
@cellarspider You have literally opened pandora’s box for me. I’m not too familiar with FR lore so when I saw this, I was like, “Oh I’ll just quickly look into that!” You know, as all night-long ventures start. And now I’m knee deep in wiki tabs. This also made me realize that I have to change some things about my Tav, Outis, as he was originally supposed to have a connection with Kelemvor, but Outis would have been OLDER than Kelemvor (like before Kelemvor ascended to godhood older), so now everything is a little out of whack, BUT IN A GOOD WAY LMAO
Just means I have to tighten up a few things about Outis AND think about how the Second Sundering might have effected Adbirak as well.
@roksikever I really love that dev note tbh. I noticed while drawing Abdirak, and looking at reference images of him, that he has scars up and down both his arms, which appear to have been healed over compared to the other scars on his body.
While these scares could be due to Loviatar worship, I also think they appeared long before he got into the faith. And I just love that detail. Especially when Abdirak scoffs at the goblin’s methods and states that he doesn’t like “Pain without purpose”. I do wonder how the Loviatan faith may have helped him thru that. Especially with the added info that the Second Sundering happened not that long ago.
I wrote out one the other day (it implies Tav!Abdirak towards the end, but I use the same backstory for him as non-Tav, regular guy too so you can just ignore the last few paragraphs).
Went and took some screenshot references of Outis’ Channel Divinity spell as well as quickly made him into the Guardian for a separate run. Gosh, he’s so pretty~
